Dr. Tobey is a very gentle adjuster. He will use ultrasound or massage prior to your adjustment if he feels it is necessary to help you relax. Some people simply dislike the sound of an adjustment done by hand. In those cases, Dr. Tobey can use an adjustment instrument that produces no “popping” sound, and still achieves the same effect a manual adjustment would.
How long will it take to feel better?
While we don’t have a crystal ball to tell you how long it will take each patient to feel better, most experience relief in as little as 2-3 days, but it can also be instant relief, or up to 2-3 weeks. There are also things you can do to help speed up the recovery process. Dr. Tobey will give you stretches to do at home and instructions on how to avoid flare up and re-injury.
Will the doctor work with my medical doctor or any of my other healthcare providers?
Of course, we love working with other providers to keep you feeling your best, or getting you better as soon as possible. It is sometimes advantageous to have other therapies and treatment accompanied with your chiropractic visit. If the doctor thinks you could benefit from seeing another provider, he can refer you to a specialist if you don’t already have one.
How much will this all cost me?
Our fee for a visit is $50. We do not bill insurance so we are not bound by their arbitrary limitations. Most people feel better within 2-3 visits to 2-3 weeks.
